Cerdyn Villa B and B is in the picturesque Irfon Valley at the  Heart of Wales; in the (sometimes!) sleepy little town of Llanwrtyd Wells and gateway to the Cambrian Mountains; an ideal escape from the madding crowds and with plenty of opportunities for activity or relaxation.

We'd love to welcome you to our B&B and we're sure you will love it here as much as we do. The hospitality, and magical eccentricity of Llanwrtyd Wells nestled alongside the river Irfon and within easy reach of breathtaking scenery; The Cambrian Mountains, The Black Mountains, The Brecon Beacons and The Epynt surround the Abergwesyn Pass. It is said that Mid Wales has the largest area of unspoilt countryside in the whole of Britain. Certainly, whichever way you look, walk or drive the views will take your breath away and it is so tranquil you will feel it has been put there just for you.

Our homely little guesthouse has a large family garden, which is yours to enjoy with a copse of trees at one end, carpeted in Spring with snowdrops, and lawns, flowerbeds plus a small wildlife pond.  We have several hens who roam around freely and you are welcome to feed them or pet them should you feel so inclined.  They remain under the watchful eye of our gorgeous cockerel, "Handsome George".

Feel free to come and go as you please from early check-in on your arrival day (anytime from noon) to late checkouts (11am) when you have to say farewell. There is also a cosy guest lounge with an original Rayburn; somewhere to sit and read or watch the birds.  You will find a selection of maps and guide books here, and in the hall there are plenty more books and DVDs for you to borrow.

As for breakfast; you can opt for a Full Welsh to Beans on toast and any combination in between.  Help yourself from a selection of cereal, Welsh yoghurts and fresh fruit and pure orange juice; pre-order homemade bread (white/brown) and enjoy it fresh and warm or toasted.  Then go for something cooked, using selected locally sourced produce, homemade items and our own eggs we're sure you'll enjoy your morning meal.

 Example breakfasts

In the fields in front of the house and in the back, which you view from the guest rooms, you will find our neighbours sheep and, in Spring, lambs bleating and leaping.

We aim to make this a true Welsh experience. All the produce for the breakfasts is locally sourced and, if homemade,  from Welsh recipes.

We sell a selection of postcards, maps and walking guides .

In the bedrooms and public areas we display many of Berni's original acrylic paintings and photographs of the local area by local artists.  Quite often these are available for you to purchase should you wish to take them home.

Berni also takes commissions for pet portraits or stained glass windows.  She also makes beautiful red kite suncatchers (her own design), to order at 30-50 cm wing spans and suncatchers of cars

We moverainbows from Cerdyn Villad to Llanwrtyd Wells at the beginning of 2005 with our son, Jason, to get out of the rat race and enjoy family life in the countryside. Llanwrtyd Wells chose us! We literally, stuck a pin in a map of Mid Wales and decided this was where we would come for the weekend, but after two days we could not bear to leave. Watch out - you may just feel the same way!"
